After her father commits suicide over bankruptcy, Fok Sum Yee (Rain Li) is left on her own to support her brother. With nothing to her name, Sum Yee boldly ventures into the entertainment industry and endures the bumps and bruises of the business. She meets friendly assistant director Hok Lai (Anson Leung), who turns out to be the second son of business tycoon Cheung (Kenneth Tsang). Sum Yee's father and Cheung were once close acquaintances, but Cheung not only refused to help when the Fok business failed, he even especially sent his older son Hok Yu (Michael Tong) abroad to separate him from Sum Yee. Crossing paths with Hok Yu again years later, Sum Yee is determined to recover what was once hers, be it love or money.
